Nancy Katsikari and Seraphim Alexandris, share dreams, ideas, moments, feelings and teach lessons of dedication and perseverance. “Partners in life, together in every detail of the shop and always there for each other”, they themselves confide to us, and we immediately understand why Nancy’s Sweet Home has been one of the most celebrated sweet shops in the city for 10 years: When the art of pastry meets true love, miracles do happen!
The shop hosts people from all over Athens, but also from every corner of the world. It is impossible to pass through Iroon Square and not be captivated by the smell of hot chocolate, baked butter and caramelized sugar. The purest ingredients are mixed with the freshest ideas creating unique sweets, each of which tells a true story of the couple.
One of the most exciting, the «sweet of love» (the first dessert that Nancy ever made and of course dedicated to Serafim) or the «cookie pie» (their wedding dessert), to the most classic ones, like the traditional kunefes, everything is here delicious and unforgettable! A special place in the heart of every self-respecting confectionery lovers should be the Mille-feuille à la minute with silky smooth creme patisserie, flavored with Madagascan vanilla (if you want, you also have the option of adding forest fruits).
The different types of Beyaz (peach, butterscotch, etc.) are also unbeatable, but also the carrot cake, an iconic classic, with pecans and cheese frosting. Don’t leave without trying the Choux Sir – inspired by Seraphim, thus «sir»! For the end, we left an individual chocolate bomb, the bomba bueno: a crispy choux on a bun base, filled with bueno cream and covered with luscious praline.
Given the most likely scenario is that you will stand hypnotized for a long time in front of the House’s windows, unable to decide what to choose first, Nancy and Seraphim are waiting for you with a smile, and be wary to come as many times as necessary, until you manage to try them all!
