Brunch is our favorite meal of the day, the one we love. We always make sure to share it with dear friends. This is how we start our mornings or have a break in a hectic day and continue with optimism until the afternoon, we discharge ourselves, put down the wrongs and the rights of life and enjoy it as a gift from the muse of everyday’s life. Home or away, it doesn’t matter, only the ritual. The past year we found our perfect temple, which is none other than Buho in Petralona, specializing in brunch and having some more weapons in it’s arsenal.
Cozy, young and welcoming, the owl – buho in Spanish – is the creation of Leonidas Vaidakis, who through years of experience in catering has his own special proposal. This small shop has a big heart, a beautiful balcony on a pedestrian street. Quiet in the mornings, for a relaxed time ideal for digital nomads that want a bite with their delicious speciality coffee Mrs Rose.
Beside eggs – which naturally occupy a large part of the menu – the Vohus omelette with 3 eggs with cream, mushroom ragout, chorizo sausage & Naxos gruyere, or scrambled eggs with fresh butter on toasted brioche bread, Edam, caramelized onions, bacon, and light mayo sauce. You can also find pancakes, such as Tacos Pancakes with grilled chicken, coleslaw, bacon and mustard mayo sauce; a selection of burgers and healthy breakfast bowls.
In only one year of operation, it has accomplished to be much more than to be a bruncherie. It is an ideal hangout for a relaxed drink after work, with signature cocktails, such as the Lost in Cuba, with Bacardi, lychee puree, vanilla liqueur, lime and rhubarb bitters or the Yuzu, with Bombay dry, yuzu puree, lavender syrup, lime and plum bitters beers but also wines and beers that you can very well accompany with one of its tasty pinsas.
The enchanting colours of the décor, will take for a walk in the Amazonian jungle, but it will also delight you with the infinitely well-priced menu.
