Cafeistas: A new era in specialty coffee

Greece has a rich and extended history with coffee, with forms and interests of our national favourite drink that have changed through time. We have developed special habits around it, habits that not only have to do with its preparation and consumption, but also the cultural and social importance that it has gradually acquired in our everyday life, an importance that it still holds today.

Coffee Republic knows all of the above well, since the distant 1995. And it has been honouring it since 2011 with its specialty coffee project – Cafeistas – which consists of a 360° overview of the secrets, processes, experiences of coffee, until it arrives with its distinct flavours and aromas in your cup.

The brand and its people have created a design space in Ikonomidou street in Peristeri that houses a coffee shop, the roastery and a training centre, all connected with absolute transparency, since there are glass windows separating the cafeteria with the production line, that unfolds in real time in the background.

And while specialty coffee has penetrated our consumer consciousness for good – with many companies operating in the field – Cafeistas differentiates itself with an admirable ecological and social consciousness in every aspect of its activity, from the equipment – with Loring machines that ensure the smallest possible energy footprint – to the relationships with small cooperatives in the origin cultivation countries and also by supporting important social movements.

The selection of coffees bearing the signature of Cafeistas result from thorough research, travels, evaluations by certified professionals and extensive tastings; so, when enjoying a cup, you can always be sure that you will drink a smooth, high-quality coffee product, without ups and downs in quality, both in retail for the ‘home baristas’ as well as for the shops that serve their coffee.

In their collection, there are always two wonderful blends: Moja, of African origin, which offers a complex and distinctive flavor profile with a velvety body, notes of ripe fruits, and a smooth, nutty aftertaste; and Dos, with a Latin American temperament, featuring a rich, full, and rounded body, notes of nuts and dark chocolate, making it a great match for a wide range of coffee palates.

There are also certified organic coffees, imported Microlots and 5-6 single origins per year from every country around the equator; as their wholesale partnerships include a complete service package, with training, equipment and technical support. Even as an individual coffee lover, you can attend their coffee seminars.

The production of coffee is not an executive process, it is an art that requires passion, dedication and passion. And judging by the results, Cafeistas is doing exactly that!
