Its creator, Kostas Kanavaros, is a cutting-edge chef who splits his time between Athens and Miami. He researched thoroughly before starting his venture, his flour is whole wheat, his sourdough is made with beer yeast from the Slow Down Taproom (right across the street), he makes the tomato sauce on the pizza with San Marzano which makes it comfit with his own Kalamata olive oil, the fig jam – which tops the GOAT pizza – is also from his family fig trees.
It is the trivial details that make each suggestion of his menu different – seasonality, small producers, inspiration, handmade preparation in everything and real affection. His pizza has a unique dough, so-so crispy, so-so fluffy, as thin as a top model. You will can enjoy The Greek, with a perfect balance of flavours between olives and raisins, between the K2 mix of cheeses, the vegetable caponata, feta cream and oregano.
Wonderful – and best seller – The Chick, with chicken, colourful peppers, onion, K2 mix of cheeses (mozzarella with low moisture, fresh mozzarella & white cheddar), but also the festive, special edition The Pumpkin, with pumpkin and drips of chilli oil. But his pasta is equally delicious, an awesome Bolognese with fresh casarecce, it causes taste vibrations with its juicy minced meat and a beautiful spaghetti carbonara.
And for those who are gluten intolerant or vegan K2 has to offer 3 unique options for each, such as the delicious lentils Lahmajun with seasonal vegetables (carrot, sweet potato , colorful peppers and onion) together with tomato, cucumber, peppers or Shrooms, with celery cream, fresh mushrooms, spinach, cashews and Messinian extra virgin olive oil (give it a chance even if you’re not a vegetarian, you’ll be blown away) .
