Situated in a rather unlikely place, next to an automobile upholstery and a glaziery, Menthe a l’eau seduces you with it’s minty exterior and scents of sandalwood and jasmine like a siren out of the Bibles of fine living. What it lacks in space, it has in heart, with it’s owner Christian Noviot being the warmest and friendliest host and curator.
Christian is a French graphic designer and citizen of the world, having travelled and lived in various places around the world, with a large chuck of his years spent in Brazil, where he decorated and managed a pousada, a small traditional hotel that acted as a launchpad for his creativity and designer instincts. All the objects that adorned his accommodation, the visitor was able to buy as a memento, indirectly foreshadowing his latest endeavour in Athens, which won his heart on a recent trip to Greece.
Menthe a l’eau is all about the art of living, the simple things that evoke happy, carefree memories, beautiful sentiments of joy derived from a colourful, feel-good object or the wonderful aromas of a handmade candle. All his collection, consists of artisanal, small French producers, the hippest ateliers that you won’t find anywhere else in the city. Beautiful porcelain vases, fine tabletops, artsy notebooks, fine soaps, exceptional candles, all exuding that much needed human element, make the warmest decorative touch for your space or a well-though gift for your loved ones.
Given that our purchasing behaviours are changing, giving more weight to ecology, ingredients, vibe and uniqueness, here you will discover the pure value of small produce, all the items that will truly transform the way you approach your home and your office. Like Christian transformed this old, dark repair shop of Imittou street to this homy, serene space of human contact and community. With all it’s wonderful treasures to boot.
