When we felt homesick for down town, we always had our own antidote: a quick walk through the blocks around Karytsi Square, between the theatres, the magical buildings of all eras of this city, the clear Attic sky that illuminates the coblestones. Now, we have another reason to visit Karytsi, to experience the spectacular renaissance, a fresh haven for wine lovers and connoisseurs of eclectic music, Glug Glug.
The owners of Glug Glug, Julia and Maria Spyropoulou, once frequented the square and motivated by nostalgia, today they put their creative touch on the new chapter of Karytsi, reviving the vibrancy of past times. In the warm and welcoming spritzeria, one can choose from a wide variety of fine wines that every sip is a journey through the vineyards of quality craftsmanship, to refreshing cocktails. The menu also claims a range of cheeses, charcuteries and pizzetti platters carefully selected to complement the wines and create a harmony of flavours.
Petite and cozy, Glug Glug is more than just a wine bar. It is a revitalization of a historic square, a tribute to the past and a celebration of the present. Through a combination of culinary expertise and proposals in Greek and foreign vineyards, at Glug Glug you will find yourself after a walk and shopping, after the office, as a prelude before the night out, in a carefully curated environment, with a very beautiful atmosphere.
