The city now has several wine bars, finally giving wine the place it deserves in everyday life as well as going out. Koperti, on the other hand, has something more to add to the wine map, and this is something new, beautiful and alive, made with flavour and passion, with dishes that will make you exclaim from excitement.
Its owner, Voula Dassakli, comes from a family with a 5th generation tradition in viticulture and winemaking, with estates in Malandreni Argolida in the Nemea area. It was a natural consequence, at some point, with her passion as well as her knowledge to utilize them and redeem them more creatively, far from the old-fashioned logic that wanted good wine to be distant and inaccessible. This is how the nice, cozy hangout of Trion Ierarchon was born, which houses more than 40 labels in a mix of foreign and Greek vineyards – with a preference for the latter – but also their own wine, an infinitely respected Agiorgitiko.
With glass windows around the perimeter, to connect with the rhythm of the sidewalk – on which tables also exist- Koperti emits Zen vibes that are certainly enhanced by a glass (10-12 options by the glass to be exact). Its large and open-hearted bar is the ideal spot to see all the activities for yourself, to be guided according to your preferences, to take a sneak peek at the open kitchen in the back.
The philosophy of his menu has a meze air – a tapas idea – the one where you cram all your forks over a plate and you’ve ordered the next one because you’ve been amazed; wonderfully creamy noodles with traditional meat charcuterie or shrimp, bruschetta with Alonissos tuna, the excellent surf n’ turf rolls with shrimp and pastirma, cheeses and cold meats from small producers from all over Greece, indicatively Syros, Tinos, Amorgos, etc. Daily and with a dish of the day, based on season, inspiration and what freshly good is found in the market.
The scenarios in Koperti are many, with vertical tests in various varieties, special thematic ‘flights’, rare harvests, and special harmonies. ‘Let’s grow old together’, sings Lena Platonos in the song of the same name ‘To Koperti’. With his comfort character and casual, unpretentious vibes, we can only hope that this will be done between his patrons.
